With a big name like Honda, we thought the Honda Pilot would have more of a kick. Apparently not. Both SUVs offer their own branded safety systems and drivetrains, but when you look closer, the comparison is revealing. The Toyota Highlander has four standard drive modes — Sport, Eco, Normal and Snow — while the Honda Pilot only has the one. A 1,500-pound difference between the two model’s standard maximum towing capacity is rather startling, and if you’d like a hybrid powertrain, better not go with the Honda Pilot. Between these two models, only the Toyota Highlander has expanded into greener energy sources. Plus, even if you’re not a tech guru, you’ll still find the Toyota Highlander model’s available 12.3-inch center touchscreen and 10-inch Head-Up Display (HUD) far more impressive than the Honda Pilot’s lack.
